When you visit West Leigh Junior School, you will see wonderful art work which encompasses the skills and qualities which the children feel the curriculum at our school provides them.

We were inspired by the bold and colourful artwork of Keith Haring, who was a pioneering artist. He worked in many schools and hospitals, painting murals with children in his distinctive ‘graffiti’ style. He wanted everyone to make art. The Keith Haring Foundation provides financial aid and assistance to children’s programmes around the world.

The children worked together as part of a team challenge to create and design their own art work in the style of Keith Haring. They thought carefully about what makes the curriculum at West Leigh unique and chose these areas as the subjects of their paintings.
