Year 5 enjoy Forest School
This week, Year 5 has taken part in Forest Schools activities. We have been learning about the ethos of the Forest and how to look after our little patch of woodland through a native American Indian creation story. We learnt all about our native Oak tree, the folklore surrounding the Oak, how to identify the leaves, bark and shape of the tree and how oak apples are formed. Some of us made little men from acorns whilst others did rubbings of the bark. Most importantly of all, we came back relaxed, calm and happy, having taken a step out from our busy, fast moving lives.
