Year 5 & 6 Dodgeball
On Wednesday 24th November, the Year 5 & 6 dodgeball teams travelled to Garons Tennis and Leisure Centre to take part in a multi-school dodgeball event. The day was split into two parts: one team attending the festival in the morning and the other team attending in the afternoon for a competitive tournament.
In the morning, the festival team had the opportunity to play a number of dodgeball games with a range of different schools. With seven games scheduled, the team worked tirelessly throughout every round, gaining valuable knowledge and experience and then implementing that into each game. The team managed to win the first four games, the next three games were incredibly close, with the last round of each game being the decider, and unfortunately they lost the last three matches. All the children attending really enjoyed the occasion and it was great to see so many schools enjoying playing dodgeball.

In the afternoon, the teams arrived and were prepared for an exciting and tense afternoon of dodgeball matches. It started with the group stage with three schools to play. The first game was incredibly close, with the match going all three rounds to decide the winner. In the last round the team were on for the win, but in the last four seconds Sacred Heart managed to get a number of our plays out to take the win. Despite this result the team showed great resilience, by putting the previous game behind them and went into the next game with bundles of confidence and energy. The team once again took the match to three rounds, the team worked hard with determination but were unable to win the game. In the final game, the team once again worked hard throughout all three rounds and managed to win. They unfortunately missed out on the next stage, finishing equal third in the group. The team still had the opportunity to play a number of friendlies to finish off the afternoon.
