Public Speaking Competition
On Tuesday, twelve students from Years 5 and 6 took part in a public speaking competition held at Thorpe Hall School. Each team, consisting of a captain, chairperson, speaker, and questioner, presented engaging speeches on various topics of interest, such as the necessity for prospective pet owners to pass a test, the inclusion of first aid in the primary curriculum, and the importance of good manners.
The students delivered their speeches with impressive passion and confidence, showcasing their abilities in their respective roles.
The competition brought great success for Year 5, with both teams winning their categories and one earning the title of overall year group winner. Additionally, individual students achieved recognition in their categories. Their exceptional efforts have set them on a promising path, and it seems likely that some may even pursue careers in debating in the future.
