Playground Squad Training

This morning our new playground squad, made up of Year 5 pupils, carried out their training to ensure that they were ready to begin their new role on Monday. They started by considering how they could make sure that their practices were both safe and fair, and then spent playtime as 'play detectives', learning what makes playtime fun and how teachers deal with any issues on the playground. After break they shared their findings and Miss Ling taught them lots of new games that they can play with the children. The session ended with an activity based on how they can be assertive with the children they are working with - but not bossy!

The playground squad are now fully prepared to start their important new job. Our playground squad are responsible for organising and leading games, setting out equipment and ensuring that all children have a happy and enjoyable playtime.
