Music Workshop with Together

Our Year 6 choir members enjoyed a creative music workshop, organised by Southend Choirs and composer Kerry Andrew. (One of Kerry’s previous compositions is one of the ‘BBC Ten Pieces’.) The children were invited to help create a new piece of music, which will be performed in Southend later this year. The aim was to develop short lyrical ideas, inspired by their ideas about lockdown isolation and being reunited once again. Our workshop leader, Ben, was really impressed with the quality of both the children’s singing and their creative ideas for the new composition. Hopefully some of the West Leigh contributions will make it into the final piece!
