Kurling and Boccia
On Friday we took a group of children to Garrons to compete in two sporting events, in the morning we had a team of four children who played several games of kurling. The children had great fun and developed their kurling technique in every round getting their stones onto the target as well as knocking the other team’s stones further away.
In the afternoon our Boccia team competed in their tournament. This being a very exciting and tactical game to watch and play. The children had to get as many balls as close to the jack ball to score points with each game having two rounds and a maximum of 8 points. The children really enjoyed playing. They demonstrated great team work playing fantastic throws to get very close to the jack ball and great defensive throwing to knock the other teams further away.
Both teams developed many skills in both events from team work and communication to throwing technics and pushing tactics for their events. All the children involved had a great time and really enjoyed taking part in a competitive sporting event.
