Walk IT training

Year 5 is an exciting year for our children as they have earned the trust and display the maturity required to walk to school on their own: a level of independence they desire and that we, at school, advocate. In order to support this, the children have all taken part in ‘Walk It’ training. During the morning, representatives from Southend Borough Council provided the children with both practical and classroom based sessions so that they were well equipped for walking independently. Walking around our local area and quizzing the children on their knowledge, it became clear that many of them were ready for their next step whilst others are continuing to develop their awareness. We hope you are able to see how much more responsible they are becoming when walking around the local area.
