Year 4 Belchamps visit
Year 4 were excited to get to Belchamps from the moment they entered school with their luggage. The children managed to contain their excitement during English and by 11:00 were ready to depart. The coaches took the children on the short journey to the centre. On arrival the children deposited their bags in their accommodation building before having lunch. The large field acted as our playground. When it was time for the children to start the first activity the leaders arrived and took them to their activity location. Over the two days the children completed four activities including fire lighting, shelter building, push ball and pedal Karts. Traversing a high beam, crate stack and caving challenged the children to develop their confidence in different ways. After our evening meal and time to unpack for the night in our different buildings we gathered together again in the woodland campfire arena. The children joined in singing songs before hot chocolate and marshmallows. Once again the children returned to their buildings this time with the intention to settle to sleep. Some achieved this sooner than others! On the Friday we woke and packed before breakfast. The mornings activities started at 9:00 and the children were back into the swing of their activities. Having completed the final two activities the luggage was retrieved. While the children enjoyed their lunch a relay of groups visited the shop in search of souvenirs to remind them of the two days. Before long the coaches had arrived to bring us safely back to school.
