Rounders competition
On Friday 8th June, 10 year 5s and 10 year 6s travelled to Thorpe Hall School to take part in the rounders competition.
The year 5 team played in the morning session. Each school played 2 games in the group stage, West Leigh played against Fairways and Hamstel. The team lost the first game and won the second to put them through to the quarter finals as runners up. They then played Earls Hall who won the game. We then played a friendly with Blenheim.
In the afternoon it was the turn of the year 6 team to play. Once again each school played 2 games in the group stage, West Leigh played Bournemouth Park and Fairways. The team was unfortunate to have lost both of these games, we then played a friendly against Darlinghurst.
All of the children that took part thoroughly enjoyed the tournament and gained valuable experience. Both teams showed superb sportsmanship throughout the competition and were a credit to the school.
