Equality and Diversity Award

On Friday 10th November, three pupils joined Mr Lear and Mrs London at the Tickfield Centre in Southend. Here they attended a ceremony to receive the school’s award for Equality and Diversity Champions. The three Year Six pupils spoke to the assembled group of headteachers and representatives from the town about the work we had completed towards our award, including attending workshops about disability and improving the provision of our playground squad. They spoke articulately and clearly and were superb representatives of the school. We then received our award and listened to the presentations from other schools. We finished the afternoon with a little Bollywood dancing, which Mr Lear joined in with great enthusiasm! A huge thank you to all parents and pupils who have supported our work towards this award over the past year – it has had a really positive impact on our school.
