Boys' and Girls' cricket competition
On Monday, nine Year 6 boys played in the boys' cricket competition at Garon park. There were 15 schools involved. We started quite nervously and played Blenheim school and narrowly lost by 11 runs. We then played Fairways school (they finished 3rd overall) and unfortunately lost. The standard this year was extremely high! We played friendly games in the afternoon where we were very successful, beating Earls Hall by 106 runs! (It was a shame we hadn't played like that earlier!) On Tuesday nine Year 6 girls played in the cricket competition at Garon park. We played in very hot conditions to beat Bournemouth Park and Porters Grange and we then played Temple Sutton in the quarter finals which we won by 17 runs. We then went on to play Alleyn Court in the semi-finals, beating them in a very tense game 305-307! This put us into the final against Chalkwell school and with some excellent batting and fielding from both teams, we were unfortunately beaten 309-311. The girls improved during each game and were complemented on their excellent play. A huge well done to all the children involved.
