Dog's Trust visit
Today, Year 5 were visited by Maria from The Dog’s Trust. She delivered a presentation and workshop to each class about the importance of rights and responsibilities. This links closely to the PSHE taught in Year 5. Children learned the importance of respecting rights, not just of humans but of animals too. They learned about the five freedoms that all dogs require, and thought carefully about the consequences if these were not followed. It made the children think very carefully about the responsibility of looking after a dog and the effects that their actions can have. Maria will also be visiting Years 4 and 6 over the next couple of weeks.
