Year 3 become time travellers
Year 3 are now officially certified time travellers after their presentation by The Freshwater Theatre Company. Their excellent spelling and caption skills aided a trainee time traveller to gain her qualification on the 10th time of trying, for which she was very grateful. Aside from time travelling, the children enhanced their learning about Ancient Greece which they have been studying in their Connected Curriculum lessons. The children met Jocasta, a woman from Ancient Greece and her Spartan Slave Griselda. There was also a surprise visit from Zeus which we only just survived. The children found out about the Greek alphabet, the writings of Homer, battles and also the legacy of Ancient Greece as well as taking part in a re-enactment of Theseus and the Minotaur! It was a fun-filled adventure full of excitement and humour but most importantly good quality learning experiences which we know the children will take forward into their classroom lessons.
