Year 4 visit Colchester Castle

Year Four enjoyed the winter sunshine in Camulodunum (Colchester) on November 2nd as they travelled back in time around 2000 years to learn all about the lives of others in Roman Britain. Colchester Castle Museum provides an excellent hands on experience, and the children not only got to dress up as Romans and Celts but they were able to build round houses and villas too. The guides were rightly impressed by, and commented on, the children's historical knowledge of the era. It was a fantastic trip which provided lots of stimulus for learning, the children could make connections easily, especially as such key events in Britain's past were right on our doorstep.
