PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

At West Leigh, we provide children with a wide and varied array of opportunities for personal development. As you will see below, we create opportunities both within and beyond the curriculum for children to become responsible, respectful and active citizens who are able to play their part and become actively involved in public life as adults. These opportunities allow the children to develop in many diverse aspects of life and provide them with access to a wide, rich set of experiences.

Our aim is to teach children how to navigate through life safely, happily and healthily. Children are growing up in a world that is constantly changing and it is the duty of all the staff at school, in partnership with their parents, to teach the children transferable life skills. We teach children about the world around them, relationships, emotions, reproduction and health, as well as transferable skills to help with life. We consistently promote the British values (Values for Life) and our school values.
