At the start of Year 3, all children are ‘sorted’ into houses! The house names were chosen by the children though a whole school democratic vote. Our house teams are Centicore, Wyvern, Phoenix and Pegasus. Throughout the year, many opportunities are provided for the children to work in their house teams and collaborate together in mixed age groups from across the whole school. House points are given for excellent work as well as in recognition of good behaviour around the school. Children keep a record of these each week and the house winner is announced in our celebration assembly.

Team Captains are elected in Year 6 and these children have many responsibilities throughout the year – for example: leading assemblies, motivating their team and helping to organise and deliver team challenges.

 

Team Challenge

Every term, the children take part in a team challenge. The children are mixed into their teams and take part in a creative task – this could be an escape room, art project – or even creating flowerpot sculptures! These are a great opportunity for children to develop their team-work and co-operation skills, as well as giving them the chance to get to know and work with children from across the whole school community.​
